UFC star Paulo Costa has provided an update on his future with the promotion after a strong recent run of form.

With two nice wins in his last two outings, Paulo Costa has made it clear to the light heavyweight division that he isn’t done competing just yet. In fact, the polarizing former middleweight title challenger is eager to prove that he deserves another crack at a championship.

Things haven’t always been amicable between the UFC and Paulo Costa, but even they can acknowledge that whenever he is part of a card, the Brazilian knows how to draw eyes to the product, which is often what they are looking for.

In a recent post on social media, Paulo Costa had the following to say about what’s next for him.

Ok, I’m making this public and clear:
I have 1 fight left. On my contract The purse is set for 3 rounds, not 5. I’m asking for the 3-round fight that was already agreed on contract . It can be anyone on the UFC LHW roaster.

Paulo Costa discusses his UFC future

“Ok, I’m making this public and clear: I have 1 fight left. On my contract The purse is set for 3 rounds, not 5. I’m asking for the 3-round fight that was already agreed on contract . It can be anyone on the UFC LHW roaster. I think Hunter has 3 options now: A) Give me that last 3-round fight (I’ll take any opponent). B) Give me a 5-round fight at LHW against anyone in 6 weeks. I’ll take it, BUT raise my purse accordingly. That’s the minimum that’s fair, right? C) Release me from my contract now. Simple and clean. I hope everyone understands. 9-18-26 Las Vegas, Nevada Sincerely, Paulo Costa.”

Costa has always been quite the character in the mixed martial arts space, and it will be interesting to see where the promotion goes from here.
