Rui Hachimura was announced as part of Japan's 17-player roster for the upcoming FIBA Basketball 2027 World Cup Asian qualifiers.

Yuki Kawamura, who recently signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Clippers, was also part of the roster.

Former NBA player Yuta Watanabe also is on the team.

The World Cup qualifying window starts in late August. Japan will play at Saudi Arabia on August 28 before returning home against Qatar on August 31.

Hachimura, who signed with the Clippers this offseason, averaged 11.5 points and 3.3 rebounds with the Lakers last year.
