The San Antonio Spurs' 2026-27 schedule includes games in France and England, along with a league-high 34 national television appearances. The slate also features three home games in Austin compared to two in recent seasons.

The extra Austin game comes as the Spurs work to fund a new downtown arena complex in San Antonio while expanding their reach along the I-35 corridor. Spurs CEO RC Buford addressed the balancing act in a statement following the schedule release.

"San Antonio is home, and we're looking forward to bringing our community together while reaching audiences in Austin, Paris and Manchester," said Buford. "We're excited for what this season will bring to our fans and proud to represent San Antonio and share the spirit, culture and community that make our city special everywhere the Spurs take the court."

San Antonio has hosted the franchise since 1973, but the team will play just 36 regular-season home games there this season due to its Global Games commitments involving Victor Wembanyama. The third Austin game, scheduled for Oct. 23, coincides with the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix weekend in the city.

The scheduling moves arrive amid uncertainty over the Spurs' arena funding. Bexar County voters approved $311 million in taxpayer funding for the project in November, part of a larger $1.3 billion arena plan under the city's Project Marvel development.

San Antonio Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones has pushed for residents to reauthorize the city's funding commitment this fall, citing a projected budget deficit. Buford pushed back on that request in a statement last week.

"The vote has taken place," said Buford. "The commitments have been made. The work is underway."

The Spurs have committed at least $500 million toward arena construction and agreed to cover any cost overruns, while San Antonio's city council approved $489 million in municipal bond funding separately.
