According to reports, multiple teams have contacted Oklahoma City to gauge Holmgren’s availability, but the Thunder have quickly shut down those conversations and indicated they have no interest in moving the young star.

Holmgren is set to begin a five-year, $239 million rookie-scale extension next season, with his first-year salary projected at approximately $41.25 million.

The contract mirrors the extension signed by teammate Jalen Williams, as both deals carry identical annual salary structures.

Some around the league had speculated that Oklahoma City could consider moving Holmgren after his struggles during the Western Conference Finals, particularly with the franchise facing future financial pressure related to the NBA’s second tax apron.

However, recent reports suggest the Thunder remain fully committed to their young core.

Rather than exploring trades involving Holmgren, executive vice president and general manager Sam Presti is expected to focus on reshaping the roster around the team’s established trio of Holmgren, Williams, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

With all three players viewed as foundational pieces, Oklahoma City appears determined to keep its core intact as it continues pursuing championship contention in the coming years.
