Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayToronto Blue Jays reliever Tyler Rogers has proven to be one of the most underrated signings in the offseason.
The Blue Jays signed him to a three-year $37 million contract on Dec. 15, 2025, and he's been a valuable asset in the bullpen.
The 35-year-old owns a 1.97 ERA with 19 strikeouts and across 32 innings pitched this season. Rogers is a unique reliever who contains an unnatural yet dominant submarine underhand delivery with a -61° arm angle.
He's served as the Blue Jays' primary set-up man but has also been utilized in closing situations (two saves this season) as well as in high-leverage situations to generate shutdown innings.

— MLB (@MLB) June 13, 2026How Tyler Rogers' unique delivery has boosted the Blue Jays' bullpen
Rogers sets himself apart from most relievers as he doesn't lean on high velocity to retire batters. Instead he utilizes a slow 83.1 mph sinker that has him ranking in the 100th percentile with an elite 68% groundball rate and a 0% barrel rate.
This illustrates how he has been a groundball specialist and a master of suppressing hard contact. As well, his delivery is eccentric as his deceptive pitch movement fools hitters into guessing, producing late swings.
His release point of 1.33 feet (MLB's lowest) has made him a huge threat, making it difficult for hitters to generate power against him.
As well, his primary sinker has held batters to a low .176 batting average, acting as a huge weapon in his arsenal. His release point also has him practically touching the dirt and while it's bizarre, it has massively benefited the Blue Jays.
He's had several notable performances but in his most recent outing against the New York Yankees, he recorded a scoreless eighth inning while also picking up a strikeout in the Blue Jays' 8-5 victory.
The Blue Jays' bullpen ERA of 3.81 currently ranks them 12th in MLB and has been a significant bright spot on their roster with the help of ace reliever Louis Varland.
It's funny how some of the best pitches in baseball in terms of run value belong to some of the best starters in baseball. Then, there's a reliever, Tyler Rogers, with his 83 MPH sinker that is damn near impossible to hit. pic.twitter.com/kCLQgoFlAq
