Barboza (24-15 MMA) will be looking to snap a three-fight losing skid when he takes to the Octagon this evening. The 40-year-old veteran has suffered losses to Jalin Turner, Drakkar Klose and Lerone Murphy in his most recent efforts. Edson’s most recent victory occurred in October of 2023, where he outpointed Sodiq Yusuff in a ‘FOTN’ affair.

Meanwhile, Esteban Ribovics (16-3 MMA) was most previously seen in action this past April, where he suffered a submission loss to Mateusz Gamrot. Prior to that setback, ‘El Gringo’ was coming off a unanimous decision victory over Elves Brener.

Round one of this UFC 330 main card lightweight bout begins and Esteban Ribovics comes forward with a 1-2. Edson Barboza answers with a straight right and a low kick. More pressure from Ribovics. He lands a hard low kick. Now a good 3-punch combination. Both men are throwing heavy shots. The volume so far is on the side of Esteban. The fighters clinch. Ribovics pushes Barboza into the cage and then breaks away. A nice 1-2 counter from Barboza. That doesn’t stop Esteban Ribovics from walking forward. He’s just walking Edson Barboza down currently. A big left hook from ‘El Gringo’. Both men land jabs in the pocket. Another nice combination from Esteban Ribovics. Two minutes remain in the opening round. More good pressure and strikes from Ribo. He rips the body with some solid hooks. Another good flurry. Barboza is just trying to survive. The horn sounds. Edson has a huge cut on his shin. It will be interesting to see if this continues.

Round two begins and Esteban Ribovics is right back on the gas. He charges Edson Barboza and connects with a right over the top. The veteran lands a low kick but that appeared to hurt him. A good left from Esteban. Now a right and then an elbow. He’s unloading on Barboza now. Another big right and referee Herb Dean has seen enough. This one is all over!
