Stephen Curry became eligible for a contract extension with the Golden State Warriors over the weekend and the front office is allowing him to decide which direction to take on the deal.

Curry can sign for up to two years and $136.7 million with the Warriors. The contract would take him through his age-40 season. Curry is on a $62.6 million expiring contract after previously signing his one-year extension in 2024.

"He could sign a one-year max contract, or he could wait," said ESPN's Anthony Slater. "The Warriors have presented him with those options. One thing I learned from talking to people this weekend is that the team is adamant: they aren't actively negotiating with Steph Curry right now. Instead, they're essentially telling him, 'You can do this, you can do this, or you can do this. If you want the one-year max, if you want the two-year max, or if you want to wait-here's your menu. Pick what you want.'"

Because Curry is impacted by the age-38 rule, he can only extend for two additional seasons. Curry has said he wants to spend the remainder of his career with the Warriors.

Curry, Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler are each currently on expiring contracts, while Kristaps Porzingis has a small guarantee on his $20 million contract for the 2027-28 season.
